For the fans of podcasts, of secret shows, and of the back alleys of the internet, r/Standup is a live standup show starring the best comedians today's scene has to offer. This is where the outcasts become the cool kids and where unique is celebrated. r/Standup features the same comedians you'd see at a theater, but it's priced at just $15 so you can be a regular and never miss it. There's a pre-show bar mingle meetup for redditors, and most comics stay around after the show to hang. And every show features one awesome unannounced guest.

FAQ |
Q: Where are you located?
A: The Chinese Theatre is located at 6801 Hollywood Blvd., in the Hollywood and Highlands complex. Parking at the complex is just $2 with validation.
Q: When are your shows?
A: Select Saturdays.
Special engagements and additional shows may be added. Stay in the loop! Sign up on the top of this page as an r/Standup VIP and get advance notice of shows, coupons and other goodies. And see our full calendar here.
Q: How old do I have to be to get into the show?
A: You must be 18 or older with a valid ID for admittance into the club.
Q: Do I need to arrive at the show early?
A: Yes. We strongly recommend that you arrive at least 45 minutes before showtime. Seating is limited and is available on a first come, first serve basis. Our shows frequently sell out and reservations are held only until 30 minutes before showtime. The only way to ensure seating is with an advance ticket purchase, which holds your seat right up to our showtime (this will not ensure group seating together if you show up at showtime and we have a sold out show). If we have guests in need of seating at that time, your reservation will be cancelled.
Q: What is the cover charge?
A: Ticket prices vary from show to show. See our calendar for more information.
Q: Do you accept credit cards?
A: Yes. We accept American Express, Visa, MasterCard, Discover, Traveler's Checks and cash. Personal checks are not accepted.
Q: Is there a drink minimum?
A: There is a two drink minimum in the show room. The club has to pay their rent somehow.
Q: Can you accommodate large groups or private parties?
A: Of course. Large groups are welcome, but reservations are strongly recommended. Additionally, large groups should arrive at least 45 minutes before show time to ensure group seating.
We can also provide entertainment for your private event. r/Standup provides a number of party packages to fit just about any budget. See our private party page for details.
Q: What is the dress code?
A: Casual but presentable. Come on folks, you're in public.
Q: Do you have smoke-free shows?
A: Yes. All of our shows are non-smoking. We have a wonderful smoking section out front, located conveniently on the sidewalk.
Q: Are the shows vulgar or dirty?
A: r/Standup is especially selective in booking its performers to ensure a standard of professionalism that exceeds industry standards. However, many of the comedians who perform at r/Standup include some degree of adult material in their acts. r/Standup recognizes that this material does not appeal to everyone - so the best way to see if you will be offended by a comedian is to google them. We always recommend you watch a few clips before you come see an act live.
Q: Do you permit heckling?
A: Sometimes an act will talk to the crowd. But uninvited "heckling" or any other effort to interfere with a performance which may be disruptive to other guests is not permitted and will result in removal from the show without refund. We request you use our bar for any loud conversations, telephone usage or texting during the performances. Your ticket allows you to enjoy the show, just like everyone else's ticket allows them to enjoy the show. Don't take that away from them.
Q: Is parking available?
A: There is $2 parking (with validation) at the Chinese Theatre. That's cheaper than a parking meter!
Q: How can I get booked to perform at r/Standup?
A: Be generally awesome, and we will find you.
Q: How can I get advance notice of shows, coupons and other great deals?
A: Visit our calendar for information on upcoming shows and special events. And sign up at the top of any page as an r/standup VIP and get advance notice of shows, coupons and other goodies!
